Dr. Todd Decker
Audiologist, Owner

Dr. Decker has been an Audiologist for more than 25 years. He medically evaluates the hearing of children and adults and can improve their lives with the treatment of hearing conditions.

Dr. Decker has a M.S. in Audiology and an Au.D. He is the current President of the SD Board of Audiology and Hearing Instrument Specialists and was the past president of the SD Hearing Health Practitioners Association. 

Dr. Todd and his wife Julianne have 3 beautiful daughters all adopted from Russia.

“I am inspired to do what I do because helping to improve the life of an individual, one at a time will help make a stronger and more caring community.” His motivation comes from “the opportunity to utilize the gifts God has given me to enhance the life of another human being so they may have the ability to become the best they can be. I am inspired by having a caring and professional team with me to provide the best outcome and patient experience we can.”

Kari Fieber
Hearing Instrument Specialist

Kari has been with Professional Hearing Services since 2012. Kari graduated from Northern State University with a B.A. in Sociology and received her Hearing Dispensing License in July of 2018. 

Kari specializes in product knowledge and orders all of our hearing aids and lab supplies.  Kari is able to provide adult patient care for hearing aid adjustments, hearing aid fittings, hearing screenings, ear mold impressions and physical examinations of the ear. Kari is currently accepting appointments.

In her spare time Kari enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their 3 children. They enjoy camping, riding horse, attending her children’s sporting events and playing board games.

When asked what inspires her, she states “Working with a team that all share the same vision. I am motivated by helping people hear and improving their quality of life. That help can come in many forms such as cleaning a hearing aid or simply listening to our patients and letting them know we genuinely care about them.”

Lauren Ellingson
Financial Coordinator

Lauren started with Professional Hearing Services in August of 2019. Before joining our team, she spent 10 years working in various forms of healthcare such as hospitals, clinics and assisted living communities.

Lauren is the clinic Insurance Coordinator and handles all insurance, patient financial related items including patient financing and assisting patients with our various Hearing Assistance Programs.  Lauren can help you with verifying insurance benefits and provide you with options for making your hearing health plan affordable.

Lauren and her husband, Travis, have two sons. During their spare time they enjoy boating and spending time outdoors together.

When asked about what inspires her and motivates her at Professional Hearing Services she says “My children inspire me to be the best I can. Now that I am at PHS, I have so much fun seeing patients come back for follow ups after their fitting and hearing them talk about the difference it has made in their life. There are certain sounds they forgot about!”

Dr. Brett King
Audiologist

Dr. King received her Doctorate of Audiology in 2022 from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD, where she also received her Bachelor’s degree in 2018.

 

"I am blessed to join such a caring team at Professional Hearing Services, Inc.”

Dr. King said. “I look forward to serving northeast South Dakota and improving the lives of others through better hearing."

 

Dr. King is originally from Arlington, SD, where she currently resides with her husband. In her spare time, Dr. King enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks with her two dogs, reading, and traveling.

Angela Arends
Director of Clinic Operations

Angie has been with Professional Hearing Services since 2012 and prior to that worked at a multi-provider medical practice handling insurance billing as well as collections and patient concerns.

 

Angie is the Director of Clinic Operations and leads the team in daily clinic operations.  She also handles outside vendors and clinic financial items. Angie can assist you in any questions or concerns you have regarding your visit to Professional Hearing Services.

 

She and her husband Casey have 3 children and a son in law and daughter in law and a granddaughter, Annie! In her free time she enjoys going for walks, traveling and spending time with family.

 

When asked what inspires her, she states “I am inspired by my family and being able to watch people’s lives change for the better. I have always had a desire to help others. I enjoy being able to help patients find a way to treat their hearing loss that does not make the cost a burden for them.”

Carley Shepherd
Patient Care Coordinator

Carley started with Professional Hearing Services in 2022.  Previously, Carley worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for 13 years before joining our team. 

Carley is the Patient Care Coordinator and is one of the first smiling faces you’ll encounter at our check-in desk.  She answers your phone calls, schedules appointments, and processes all incoming patient information.

Her and husband, Jeremy, have 2 young children, Ellyson and Camdyn.  In her spare time, Carley enjoys spending time with her family, preferably outdoors.  Carley’s inspiration is her children.  “I want to set an example for them to learn from as they grow up.”  She also loves helping people so they can live their best life.

Dr. Matt Gottesman
Audiologist

Dr. Gottesman earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He received his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of South Dakota.

Dr. Gottesman completed internships at South Dakota Services for the Deaf and Sioux Falls Audiology Associates and his externship at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Texas.

Originally from Los Angeles, CA,

Dr. Gottesman is also a drummer, a narrator, and wants to leave the world better-sounding than he found it.

Lisa Stoltenburg
Patient Technology Coordinator

Lisa has been with Professional Hearing Services since 2015. Her background includes working in retail, working in a medical clinic for over 20 years she also has a degree in commercial tailoring and still helps friends and family with their sewing needs.

 

Lisa works the clean and check desk on the east side of our building. She will take care of your device cleaning and any troubleshooting needs.  She specializes in minor hearing aid repairs and assists with checking in and out all of the hearing technology in our office.

Lisa and her husband Galen have two sons. Lisa’s favorite thing to do is spend time with family and travel.

​Lisa says her inspiration comes from the stories she hears. “Everyone has a story to tell and I enjoy hearing all of their unique stories. I love helping our patients overcome issues they may be having with their hearing devices or accessories. I always want the patient to feel we are all here to improve their quality of life through better hearing.”
